Fun Recycling: Turning Waste Into Rewards

This project focuses on encouraging sustainable waste management on campus through a reward-based smart recycling system. Developed using a design thinking approach, the team identified the lack of motivation and awareness among students regarding plastic recycling and proposed an engaging, technology-enabled solution.

The concept is built around a Smart Recycling Machine, similar to a reverse vending machine, where users can deposit recyclable plastic bottles and receive rewards such as coupons or small items. The system uses sensors and a microcontroller to detect, verify, and store recyclable materials while providing immediate feedback to the user.

DIY Air Purifier – Low Cost Home Solutions

This project addresses the growing concern of indoor air pollution by proposing a low-cost and practical home air purification system. The idea was developed as an affordable solution for households that need cleaner indoor air without the high cost of commercial air purifiers.

The prototype is designed using readily available components such as a fan, pre-filter, HEPA filter, and activated carbon filter. The system draws contaminated air inward, filters fine particles and pollutants, and helps reduce gases and odors, making it suitable as a budget-friendly home solution.

  • Team Members: Soumili, Suhas, Surbhi, Tanishk, Tejas
  • Objective: Improve indoor air quality using an economical DIY solution
  • Methodology: Fan-based airflow through pre-filter, HEPA filter, and activated carbon filter
  • Outcome: A practical and affordable purifier concept for home use
