  • Preparation of digital content for academic repositories and presentations
  • Archival support for knowledge-sharing, documentation, and institutional memory
  • Content preparation for publishing, indexing, and digital learning support
This environment helps students, faculty, and project teams preserve knowledge and convert physical information into searchable digital resources.
The Knowledge Digitization Laboratory combines fast overhead scanning with high-performance computing to preserve, process, and transform physical information into structured digital knowledge.
Digital Archiving & Knowledge Processing Infrastructure

CZUR ET18 Scanner

The laboratory is equipped with the CZUR ET18, a high-resolution overhead document scanner designed for rapid and non-contact digitization of books, printed documents, magazines, reports, and bound materials.

With its 18 MP imaging system and page capture speed of around 1.5 seconds per page, the scanner supports efficient conversion of physical documents into digital assets for academic and institutional use.

The ET18 is particularly useful for bound-book scanning, thanks to its overhead architecture and curve-flattening workflow, which helps produce cleaner scans without requiring books to be dismantled.

Paired with an Apple Mac Studio featuring the M4 Max chip, 14-core CPU, 32-core GPU, 36GB RAM, and 512GB storage, the laboratory can efficiently manage OCR, file organization, image enhancement, digital archiving, and media-rich documentation workflows.
