Facilities at Digital Manufacturing Laboratory MSRIT AICTE IDEA LAB
The Digital Manufacturing Laboratory is equipped with laser-based digital fabrication systems for engraving, marking, cutting support, product customization, and rapid prototyping.

Primary Equipment:
  • Mehta Vega Series 100W CO₂ Laser Engraver
  • Mehta EVAN Series 30W Fiber Laser
Laboratory Applications:
  • Laser engraving and cutting support for acrylic, wood, leather, paper, and non-metal fabrication materials
  • Permanent marking of metal parts, tags, tools, components, and industrial identification surfaces
  • Rapid prototype development, product branding, nameplate creation, and customized fabrication
  • Digital workflow from artwork or CAD output to physical manufacturing
The 100W CO₂ laser platform supports digital manufacturing workflows involving engraving, profile cutting, decorative fabrication, and prototype preparation on non-metal materials.
  • Suitable for acrylic, wood, leather, paper, plastics, labels, and design-oriented fabrication materials
  • Useful for product enclosures, display elements, signage components, educational models, and customized fabrication work
  • Supports digitally controlled manufacturing from vector artwork and layout-based production workflows
  • Well suited for academic prototyping, concept realization, and small-batch customized production
This makes the laboratory useful for students working on fabrication-intensive projects, product concepts, design prototypes, and visually finished manufacturing outputs.
The Mehta EVAN Series 30W Fiber Laser supports high-precision permanent marking workflows for industrial and engineering applications. Key Capabilities:
  • Suitable for marking metals and some non-metal materials
  • Supports serial numbers, logos, barcodes, data matrix codes, graphics, and grayscale marking
  • Air-cooled fiber laser system with long service life and low maintenance requirements
  • Useful for part identification, traceability, branding, and component marking
Officially Listed EVAN Series Parameters:
  • 30W output option in the EVAN range
  • 1064 nm wavelength
  • Maximum marking speed up to 10000 mm/s
  • Minimum line width 0.03 mm (material-dependent)
  • Marking depth 0.01 to 0.3 mm depending on material
  • Standard marking field 145 mm × 145 mm with optional larger fields
The Digital Manufacturing Laboratory combines CO₂ engraving and fiber-laser marking to support prototype fabrication, product customization, precision identification, and digitally controlled manufacturing workflows.
Laser Engraving, Marking & Digital Fabrication Infrastructure

Digital Manufacturing Laboratory

The laboratory is equipped with advanced laser-based systems for digital manufacturing, including a Mehta Vega Series 100W CO₂ laser engraver for non-metal fabrication workflows and a Mehta EVAN Series 30W fiber laser for high-precision marking applications.

Mehta’s CO₂ laser product range is positioned for engraving and marking on non-metal materials such as wood, acrylic, plastics, leather, and related fabrication substrates, making it suitable for prototype models, product panels, signage elements, display work, and customized manufacturing outputs. :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}

The EVAN Series fiber laser is officially described by Mehta as a system for high-speed, precise marking on metals and alloys. The EVAN-30 model is listed with 1064 nm wavelength, air cooling, maximum speed up to 10000 mm/s, minimum line width 0.03 mm, and a standard 145 × 145 mm marking field, with optional larger fields. :contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}

Together, these systems allow students and innovators to move from digital design to physical output across engraving, product customization, industrial marking, prototype development, and digitally controlled fabrication workflows.
